We will not be able to accept late registrations. Please read our Return to Play document before registering for any programs.

Harpswell Youth League (HYL) baseball is for children ages *7+8 (as of 4/30 of the current year).

*Seven year olds that do not have any prior experience are strongly urged to participate in one year of t-ball prior to registering for a rookie team. This is not only for safety purposes, but also to make sure the participant has a basic baseball foundation, rule comprehension and the motor skills necessary to play.
* 6 year olds with at least one season of T-ball may be eligible to play Rookie Baseball or Softball on a skills and space available basis.  If you have questions about your child's placement, please contact Harpswell Recreation at 833.5771.

**Baseball players ages 9-12 please see Ararat Cal Ripken Baseball Sign Ups here. Registration deadline for Ararat Cal Ripken Baseball is March 15, 2021.  8 year olds with prior baseball experience can be considered for Cal Ripken Minors at the discretion of the Ararat Board of Directors.

HYL is part of a larger League, Ararat Cal Ripken, that is comprised of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Richmond and Topsham. Games are played with the towns listed plus Brunswick.  Practices and home games are held at Trufant Summerton Athletic Field.

Registration fee is $35 and includes T-shirt and hat.

**Equipment required:  Players should be prepared to supply their own equipment: batting helmet, glove and a bat.  If you are unable to supply equipment, please contact the Harpswell Recreation Department, as a limited amount of equipment may be available to borrow.

**Like during our 2020 season, COVID guidelines must be followed again this year to allow us to run programs. As we all know, this is a very fluid situation with constantly-changing policies which we will keep everyone updated on as we approach the season. For example, in accordance with current Maine Community Sports Guidelines, masks will be mandatory for all players, coaches and volunteers. Limited or no spectators will be permitted at events.
We will communicate these policies as well as any changes to them through email. Thank you in advance for your understanding as we navigate through these challenging times together.

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
