Ararat Baseball (9-12 year olds)
We are delighted to announce that we have opened registration for the 2022 youth baseball season. Similar to last season, registration for our "Minors" and "Majors" Cal Ripken divisions will occur directly through our league. NEW FOR 2022: Majors Division local league season will play 50/70 field dimensions and rules. The town rec departments of Topsham, Harpswell, Bowdoin and Bowdoinham will continue to offer tee ball/baseball programs for children under the age of 9*. Players from our towns aged 9-12 (as of April 30, 2022) are permitted to sign up for Cal Ripken Baseball through the Ararat Youth Baseball website: www.ararat.website.sportssignup.com
*8 year-olds with prior baseball experience can be considered for Cal Ripken Minors at the discretion of their respective town recreation director and Ararat Board of Directors.
Registration for Minors/Majors is open now until March 1st. The fee for the 2022 Ararat Youth Baseball Season is $65 and can be paid online through our website or by mailing a check as directed. Registrations received after March 1st deadline are subject to division/team capacity restrictions and $10 late fee. There will be a preseason clinic held on three dates (most likely Sundays) in March, hopefully at Mt. Ararat High School. The fee to attend the preseason clinic is $30 and it can be included in your online registration. Please note that space in the preseason clinic could be limited!
Anyone interested in volunteering as a coach this season must register through our website as well. In accordance with their partnership with Babe Ruth League, Inc., our new website performs the mandatory background check and offers abuse prevention training (good for 2 years) for a fee of $25.50**.
**Volunteer coaches who are willing to umpire one of our league games this season will be reimbursed the coach's background check fee!
