MODIFIED CHALLENGE: New this year we are offering a modified challenge. This option is excellent for families with small children or individuals with limited mobility.
Cliff Trail – newly renovated .4 mile inclusive woods trail
Mitchell Field – paved
Curtis Farm – Field area of trail (Route 123 parking area)
Mackerel Cove/Johnson Field Preserve – parking area and level lot, great views!

In addition to the hiking challenge we will be celebrating the renovation of Cliff Trail. In 2021, the Cliff Trail was rehabbed to feature a .4-mile smooth, flat inclusive trail that is suitable for users with limited mobility or using mobility devices. With this project, Harpswell is now home to one of the newest and most beautiful inclusive trails in the Mid Coast area. This was made possible with a grant from the Recreational Trails Program, Maine Conservation Corps, many hours of volunteer labor, donations of equipment, community fundraising and funds/donations from local business. The grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held on June 4 at 10:30 am.

Also new in 2022 is a second loop trail at Harpswell Heritage Land Trust's Little Ponds Preserve, bringing the total trail distance up to 9/10 of a mile. The new trail, which was completed as Harrison Whittaker's Eagle Scout project, includes a variety of views and habitats, including a section along Mill Pond and beautiful forest walking.

Headquarters table at Harpswell Town Office will be staffed from 9-4 Saturday and 9-3 on Sunday. Water, snacks, restrooms and information.

We have lots of prizes to give away for challenge finishers! T-shirts, tumblers, tote bags and more (all while supplies last).

These are FREE events. No pre-registration is necessary, just show up! All participants assume risk and responsibility in the event of injury.
